Kokle Ensemble “Raksti”

The kokle ensemble “Raksti” was formed in January 2006 as a studio of the kokle ensemble “Kārta”, and in 2014 became an independent collective. The ensemble includes representatives of various professions who learned kokle playing in music school and continue to develop their skills today. Members not only play the kokle but also compose and arrange music themselves, creating the ensemble’s distinctive musical style. The repertoire includes Latvian folk songs and original compositions that combine traditional and contemporary elements. The ensemble performs actively, collaborates with other groups, and promotes the kokle as a national instrument both in Latvia and abroad. In the Song and Dance Festival evaluations, “Raksti” has achieved high results, earning 3rd place in the 2023 finals.
