Folk Painting Studio “Grīva”

The painting studio “Grīva” was founded in 1997. The studio’s leader is painter Juris Ģērmanis, a member of the Artists’ Union of Latvia since 1975, educated at the Art Academy of Latvia and participant in numerous painting exhibitions. The studio “Grīva” brings together art enthusiasts with varying levels of experience. Participants work in various painting techniques — oil, acrylic, pastel, and drawing. They often go painting outdoors. Participants can always receive professional advice from the leader. Their works are exhibited in shows organized by the “Iļģuciems” Cultural Centre and the Riga City Council, as well as in individual solo exhibitions.
