Middle Generation Dance Ensemble “Dejotprieks”
The middle‑generation dance ensemble “Dejotprieks” embodies in its name the two cornerstones of the group — dance and joy — which the dancers bring both to rehearsal, concerts and dance events in Latvia and abroad. The ensemble is led by Ginta Zoltane and Sandra Keisele, who can teach even those who previously hadn’t considered being fluent in dance. The ensemble includes 28 dancers, including 8 married couples, and family values are preserved by involving the leaders’ and dancers’ children as well.
“Dejotprieks” participates in friendship concerts with other ensembles, major concerts, the Latvian Song and Dance Festival, and the Europeade Dance Festival in various countries, regularly taking part in dance evaluations and receiving high marks. In 2022, the ensemble performed at the National Theatre in the production “Pūt, Vējiņi”, gaining new stage experience.
The ensemble’s goal is to continue developing dance skills, reach great heights, and promote Latvian dance both in Latvia and abroad, preserving the tradition of calling out before each concert: “We have great and mighty joy — that is our Dejotprieks!”
