Folk Applied Arts Studio “Ceplis”
The folk applied arts studio “Ceplis” is a creative and lively collective where participants work in various ceramics techniques — pulling, wheel‑throwing, moulding, sgraffito, smoked ceramics, and raku — learning ethnographic pottery traditions and creating contemporary designs with various glazes. The studio offers professional skill development through masterclasses and individual training, and the workshop maintains a creative, friendly, and industrious atmosphere. “Ceplis” regularly participates in city and national exhibitions, the “Meet Your Master” (“Satiec savu meistaru”) project, the Song and Dance Festival applied arts exhibition, and organizes or participates in more than 10 exhibitions annually in Latvia and abroad, collaborating with other studios. The founder and leader until 2023 was Vija Vose; the studio is now led by Elvijs Krevics.
