Ethno Group “Zeidi”

The ethno group “Zeidi”, founded in January 2017 as a small gathering of folk music and dance enthusiasts, works to keep alive the choreographic folklore, folk songs and music, traditional clothing, rituals, and seasonal customs of both Latvians and other nations, while researching and exploring history. The group’s mission is to introduce society to the vital spirit of tradition, preserve and pass on the love, friendship, and joy brought by folk dance, music, and song, and to instill these values within families. “Zeidi” values include harmonious human relationships, family and friends, the cultural heritage of ancestors and various nations, joy, health, Latvian nature, and the celebration of Latvian seasonal traditions, emphasizing the importance of tradition in preserving identity and providing inspiration.
