Amateur Theatre “Piektais tramvajs”

The amateur theatre “Piektais tramvajs”, founded in 1996 as the theatre studio of Riga Television, continues the traditions of director Ārijs Geikins by staging both Latvian and foreign dramaturgy and fostering the development of acting skills. The ensemble operates as a suburban theatre, participates in amateur theatre festivals, in the performance showcase “Riga Plays Theatre” (“Rīga spēlē teātri”), and collaborates with various cultural centres, maintaining a creative approach, honouring its founder, and creating new productions. Theatre’s current director is Ligita Zaula.
